Cinnamon Pretzels

April 13, 2016 by Valerie Ott 2 Comments

cinnamon pretzels

Hi Friends!  Soooo…I know with all of you fellow Target lovers out there I can’t be the only one who bribes their children with the cinnamon pretzels they have in their cafe, right?  (Right?!)  Sometimes these sticky-sweet-preoccupations are the only way I can peruse the home goods sections of the store in relative peace.  And while I thought I’d never be the kind of mom who resorted to paying off my kids, I figure $1.29 is a small price to pay for a little me-time.  And then I don’t have to feel completely selfish about dragging them around to look at the new Nate Berkus stuff.

So because my kiddos love Target’s cinnamon pretzels so much, I thought I’d surprise them and make my own as their after-school snack yesterday.  You would’ve thought I had bought them a new puppy!  I actually can’t call this a recipe, it was so stinkin’ easy.

Start with these:

frozen pretzels

Cinnamon Pretzels

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with foil and put the pretzels on the foil. (I baked 4.)
When the oven is ready, stick the pretzels in and set the timer for 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine 2 T. butter, 2 T. sugar, and 1 tsp. cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave this to melt the butter, about 30 seconds or so. (Cover with a paper towel so the butter doesn’t explode all over your microwave.)
After the pretzels have baked 3 minutes, brush the butter mixture liberally all over them. Bake for 1 more minute.
Enjoy!

I told you it wasn’t a recipe.  Just a cheap trick to make my girlies happy.  Now they don’t have to endure an hour of me stalking the clearance endcaps at Target to get their pretzel fix.
