The Steamy Side of Marsala: Pantone’s Color of the Year

January 29, 2015 by Valerie Ott 2 Comments

Whoa. Did you know Pantone’s Color of the Year had a steamy side? I must admit, I’m not a huge fan of decorating with red, but this year’s choice of marsala is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. Take a look at all the ways you can use Pantone’s Color of the Year as a hot choice for romantic occasions all year long.

Here are some of the great accessories you can find in marsala that work perfectly for Valentine’s Day.

Was under impression Pantone's color of year is purple? That was info I saw at Lowe's by their new color line. Guess I was wrong. Marsala is a very pretty color but not easy to blend into Beachy or cottage. It is a gorgeous jewel tone color tho. Love those satin sheets in Marsala, oh yum. Sitting here thinking what it would feel like to sleep on those sheets, sexy. Right now in CO we use flannel and in summer cotton. Would satin sheets be hot (temp wise) to sleep on satin sheets in Summer? They sure are pretty and shiny. Look actually lustrous.
After I enter this comment just have to see what the "divine drop cloth" is. Have a couple new drop cloths I'm itching to make something with my new very basic Brother sewing machine.
Can't believe it's already almost the weekend, where did this week go? Happy weekend

Last year's color of the year was a purple called Radiant Orchid. Maybe that's what you saw at Lowe's? Anyway, I agree that marsala isn't easy to decorate with, especially if you like beachy colors (which I do). But it's fun for Valentine's! I've never slept on satin, either, but I'd imagine it would be cool rather than hot. Not sure…
Good luck with your sewing machine!
