Hello! How are my dear friends and followers today? I’ve been working on getting out all of my fall stuff the past few days and just thought I’d jump on to share some of the ways I’m decorating for fall around the house this year. It’s so much fun to cozy up the house for autumn…but it can be tricky, too. Do you put out your Halloween stuff now, or wait a few weeks? And then do you turn around and change things again for Thanksgiving? I don’t know how you feel, but that’s way too much time and money invested by my book. I keep things basically the same for the whole season until Christmas, but I do change the wreath on the front door to be more Halloween-ish for a short while, and I put out my spooky crow and lantern, too. When trick-or-treating is over, everything goes back the way it was because it works for Turkey Day, too.
So anyhoo, here’s my mantel this year…and in years past:

Here’s our entryway this year and last:

And just some other touches of fall around the house:

And finally, an update for our wood slice chalkboard on the gallery wall I’m still enamored with.

Hi Val, just came across your blog and I love your style and of course, your philosophy of making a home a wonderful and happy place for your children to grow up. Do you think you can show us, your fans, how to make those lovely flowers—sorry, if you had already done, as I said I am new follower. Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to let us "in" into your beautiful home and your beautiful family!
