Wrapping Supply Closet with Peg Board

February 11, 2014 by Valerie Ott 4 Comments

Hey, hey! So will you judge me if I tell you that I just put away all of my wrapping supplies from Christmas?? It’s true. Everything was in a pile awaiting a little project I had in mind for storing it. As things generally go in this house…it took awhile to get it done.

We have a hall closet that had some wasted real estate at the bottom of it, so I had the idea to install some peg board inside so I could get all of my wrapping stuff up out of the basement where it was a completely disorganized mess. As you can see from this picture, I could stand to do some more organizing on the shelves above.

But for now, we don’t have anywhere to put our small kitchen appliances until our pantry gets built in the kitchen. Once those get relocated, I’m going to outfit the shelves with baskets for batteries, more wrapping supplies like tissue paper, and our binders full of instruction manuals. That will be a happy day! For now, though, I’m totally enamored with the bottom half of the closet.

By the way, the peg board was left over from another project so that was free. And the hanging baskets and rods came from Lowe’s. They sell kits specially-made to hang on peg board. Oh, and the rolls of wrapping paper are stored in plastic bag storage thingies from IKEA.
