Hey, how’s your day goin’? I wanted to share a coupla before and after pics with you this morning. Nothing too dramatic…no crazy kitchen makeover done on a shoestring budget or anything. Just a shot of our family room with and without a coffee table.
Here’s what the table looked like when I got it for 5 bucks.
Pretty, right? Well, I saw this guy’s potential because it had simple lines, and was well-built and still sturdy despite major neglect. Just a little sanding, a coat of my favorite primer, and a coat of Rustoleum spray paint in Navajo White is all it took to make it worthy of bringing inside. I resisted the urge to faux finish, decoupage, or put a chevron stripe on the top, and just decided to let it be.
So then…I spruced it up with a tray and a jar with a leafy branch in it. I also added a throw.
Amazing what a little color will do.
Now you can’t see this because our glass slider is all blown out in this picture and quite frankly, my iPhone and photograph-editing skills are lacking, but the tree right out back is a flaming orangey-red, making this my favorite place in the house right now.
