Craft of the Week: Faux Forced Branches

February 19, 2013 by Valerie Ott 1 Comment

It feels every bit of February around here today…you can just see the daffodils starting to poke through, but there’s a damp chill in the air, and the wind is tossing around enough flurries to stick among the green shoots. You can sense that spring is coming…but oh, it feels like a long way off yet.

That’s why this craft by At Home on the Bay really cheered me. I love the look of forced branches in vases (and this looks particularly pretty with the butterfly art, no?) Alas, we don’t have any flowering trees to snip, and I don’t think my neighbors would appreciate it if I went and “pruned” theirs. So this is perfect! And it looks so authentic, don’t you think? You could do one…or many, like in this pic (although these are real.)

How pretty is that?

Ah…looking at things like this is one of the things that makes me miss having a yard full of trees (as opposed to watching the neighbors spend weekend after weekend raking leaves in November!) So pretty!
