Craft of the Week: Sisal Rope Table

June 15, 2011 by Valerie Ott 1 Comment

This is so cool, I can’t even stand it. I’ve seen these sisal-wrapped tables in stores and catalogs and yes!…they’re really expensive. Sparkle shows us how to make a DIY version that looks just as great as a store-bought one. I do think adding a glass top would be good, though, because this surface would be hard to dust. True, this might be a more time-consuming craft than those I often post, but it seems super-easy and inexpensive. Thanks for the great idea!

Thank you for featuring my table! It was a bit time consuming and slightly more expensive than my usual project..but still only around $50. If I do it again (which I might) I'd wear some type of gloves to protect my hands. Between the hot glue gun, the rough sisal and inadvertent brushes with the E600, I think I lost some fingerprints. But despite it all, I am so in love with this little table!!
