Who doesn’t love the coastal look? It’s definitely a fan-favorite when it comes to decor styles and I like it, too….with one caveat. I prefer my nods to all things nautical to be on the subtle side. While we do live close to Lake Erie and vacation around the Great Lakes every year, it would seem a little odd to hang, say, a ship’s wheel in our family room. I guess that’s because we have such long, harsh winters in these parts. But any of these coastal decor projects would look right at home year-round, especially during the summer months.
You may have seen my driftwood candle holder last week. That’s a great example of we brought just a little bit of the beach home with us this year (along with the sand that still remains in our car!) Here are some other DIY coastal decor projects I gathered up for you on About.com. Take a peek!
If you liked those, I have a few more for you right here:
These subtle coastal projects give your home just the right amount of “beach house” if you’re land-locked most of the year.
Have you made anything beachy this year? I’d love to see it! Link up in the comments!
