Well, hello! I’m so glad you’re visiting with me today, because I’m sharing all of my spring decorations around the house. All of the blues and greens in our home lend themselves really well to spring, so I find our home looks its very best this time of year. Althooough…cleaning isn’t my strong suit. It would probably look even better if the floors were shiny and the windows were free of dog nose smudges. But if I don’t look tooooo closely, I can try to enjoy how far we’ve come with our house since we moved in and enjoy all the cheery springtime touches.
So starting in our foyer, I swapped out some cozy winter pillows for these–I made the chevron one with outdoor fabric from Jo-Anns–and a pitcher full of forsythia branches. I love the drama of these branches because they’re so tall.
The yellow really stands out against my $2 Goodwill bargain oil painting, which came with a good story.
I also hung a forsythia wreath on the front door, and couldn’t help but tie on this little nest. The colors were just too perfect.
In the family room, I kept things pretty simple. Our mantel just has this boxwood wreath sign on it, helping us remember that Easter isn’t all about bunnies and eggs.
I decorated a tiered cake stand with Easter grass, blue and green plastic eggs, and a bunny…but honestly, I keep moving him around. I’m not sure where it looks best.
In the dining room, I just put out a vase full of yellow and white tulips and another bunny–this guy’s got a yellow bow.
And here’s a wider shot of our dining room leading into our living room.
You can probably see what I mean about all the green and blue! I wish I could take more wide shots of our house like so many of the absolutely gorgeous home tours I’ve been seeing. (The Happy Housie and House by Hoff are two of my favorites! Their spring decorations are swoon-worthy.) But our house always seems to be a work in progress, and no two rooms are ever done to my satisfaction. One of these days I’d love to post, “I’m finished! Look at our magazine-worthy house!” (But then what would I do?) And let’s be honest. I’d probably have to clean those windows first.
So I hope you enjoyed what glimpses I did show you. To see some other spring decorations I’ve made, check out these posts:
